Can you soft wash the walls of a two-storey rendered house?
Answered by Luke at Westside Roof Cleaning & Soft Wash, with more than 12 years on Perth roofs.
Yes. Soft washing is the right way to clean rendered and painted walls, including upper storeys. It removes weathering, mould and dirt at low pressure, so it won’t damage paint or render. It’s popular before selling a home.
What it removes
- Black mould and green algae, especially on shaded walls.
- Dust and weathering marks.
- Cobwebs and grime under eaves.
Why not pressure clean walls?
High pressure can damage paint, erode render and force water into cracks. Soft washing cleans without the risk.
Bore water stains
Orange or brown marks low on walls are usually bore water staining, which needs a different treatment. See bore water stain removal.
